UN Climate Challenge Finalists Announced

The United Nations has announced the finalists of its Youth Climate Challenge, with three teams from Africa among the twelve global finalists competing for $50,000 in implementation grants.

The African finalists include a Kenyan team developing solar-powered irrigation tools, a Nigerian startup focused on plastic waste upcycling, and a Rwandan project building community-based carbon monitoring systems.

Final pitches will take place at the UN Climate Conference in September, where judges will evaluate scalability, community impact, and innovation.
